‘Developing and growing’
In Year 1 children move from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. We continue to build upon the progress the children have made during their Reception year and to encourage greater independence in subtle ways. There is a real focus on ensuring the children have the necessary skills to build a successful learner and developing confident and happy children. In year 1 the children undertake a Phonic Screening Check (usually in June) this is a low-key test that all children in England are required to take. We support your child through our phonic and reading programme to ensure most succeed.
