It is with pleasure that I welcome you to our St James' Church of England Primary School website. We have been welcoming children of all faiths, and none, to our school since 1865 and now we are also a member of DGAT (Diocese of Gloucester Academy Trust).  

I am very proud to have become the Headteacher of St James' in January 2024, having been the Deputy Headteacher for a number of years, leading a dedicated, inspirational and creative team who strive to live out our school vision:

St James' is a welcoming and exciting school family to belong to, both as a child and as an adult. Our children experience an ambitious curriculum that not only offers educational excellence but also encourages pupils to be curious and creative. Our collaborative approach to learning, is enriched with experiences that develop the children’s understanding of the world around them. 

 

At St James’, we recognise that children are all individual and unique. They have all been, and are going, on individual journeys, but our mission is to ensure that we develop the whole child, so that they can live life to the fullest.

 

 Whilst our website will give you an insight into life at St James', there is nothing quite like seeing a school in action to appreciate the wide range of opportunities that we can provide for your child. We welcome you to come in and see for yourself by joining one of our prospective parents' sessions, which we run from September to January, or you could call our administration team to book an individual appointment with us, to look around our wonderful school.
